Artist Statement

English:

I primarily work focused on the material; my technique is hand-sewing, and my method is repetition. My work draws attention to the consequences of an exceptionally fast-paced society. By meticulously sewing of thousands of individual elements, a sense of temporality and mindfulness emerges, creating a counterpoint to the acceleration of everyday life. My work invites viewers, as well as and myself, to perceive the world differently and to rediscover the connection between humans, nature, and the self.

Ich arbeite überwiegend Material-zentriert, meine Technik ist das Hand-Nähen, meine Methode die Wiederholung. Meine Arbeit richtet den Blick auf die Auswirkungen einer überaus schnelllebigen Gesellschaft. Durch das minutiöse Festnähen tausender Einzelteile entsteht eine Form von Zeitlichkeit und Achtsamkeit, die im Kontrast zur Beschleunigung unseres Alltags steht. Meine Arbeit lädt die Betrachtenden und nicht zuletzt auch mich selbst dazu ein, die Welt anders wahrzunehmen und die Verbindung zwischen Mensch, Natur und sich selbst neu zu entdecken.
