“Aspirin” explores the relationship between humans and nature, and the crossing of ethical boundaries through exploitation and greed. The title refers to the globally known medication, an emblem of a multibillion-dollar industry whose origin lies in the willow tree. By stitching the leaves and bark of this tree onto canvas, the work restores attention and value to the natural material while revealing its fragility, which is often obscured by economic interests.
